July 4th Weekend

We did quite a bit of running this weekend. We headed home to Gettysburg on Friday, then went up to visit the Ashland mines with Tim's family on Saturday.

The entrance to the mine.

The mine's telephone, which still works.

I liked this picture of Nate and Tim.

And this one of Jeremy with Zach.

Nate, Jeremy, and Tim playing on the merry-go-round after dinner.

After we were done at the mines, we headed back to Gettysburg and spent the evening setting off Tim's supply of fireworks and playing with sparklers.

Zach's first sparkerls.

One of Tim's spinners. The third one he set off just exploded and ricocheted off the house into the trees.

On the 4th, we went down to my aunt & uncle's house in Maryland for a birthday party. July is like a second Christmas where only half the family gets presents. My uncle Keith, my cousins Liz and Grace, my brother Dan, and his girlfriend, Emily, all have birthdays in July. Also, my aunt's dachshund was born on July 1st.

We were glad to have off on Monday after all of that driving, since we had to drive the 2.5 hours back to Philly that afternoon. It was a good weekend and we got to see just about everyone:)
