Pittsburgh

Two weeks ago, Tim and I spent the weekend in Pittsburgh with Susie, Matt, and Andrew (some of my friends from college). We went for the Pens/Flyers game on Saturday, but got some sight-seeing in.

Here are some of my favorite photos:
First view of the city from 376.

Thought this was interesting, given all the Heinz references.

Made it to Primanti Brothers on the Strip for lunch Saturday morning.

The Pens Mural in the corner.

Look out! It's Ben Roethlisberger!

My awesome sammich.

Mellon Arena

Center Ice

Yes!

FIGHT!!

We didn't match on purpose. We just have a knack for accidentally dressing the same.

With Tim where the rivers meet.

Sunset over the rivers. (I'm standing on the fountain, but it's all backlit, so you can't tell.

Big City Pittsburgh

Playing checkers at Cracker Barrell.

The trip went well, the Penguins won, and we saw at least 1/3rd of the city. And we ran into a friend from high school who was also visiting for the hockey game(s) that weekend. The only down side was that the 2004 VW Jetta we borrowed from Susie's dad to make the trip blew it's water pump somewhere around Carlisle, PA. So Matt and Susie had to get towed back to Bethlehem, and Tim and I ended up borrowing his parents' '74 Ford LTD to get back to Philly. We actually played a couple of games of checkers at the Cracker Barrell at the Rt 15 interchange while we waited to get rescued, which explains the last photo... It was a late night, but it didn't ruin the trip:)
